Our 2019 highlights

A wise man once said “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it”. Actually, that’s from the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, but we felt inspired to take a step back and look at what we achieved last year, which didn’t seem to feature many days off!
  • 555 events delivered across the globe, in 18 countries
  • 14 brilliant people joined the family
  • Our first Mental Health First Aider within the team
  • One wedding, two babies and £1,054 raised for our nominated charity, Mind
Last year was such a success for Broadsword; here are our monthly highlights.

January
At the start of the year, we produced an Annual Sales Kick-off event in Philadelphia. 600 delegates from around the world. Three days of presentations across three floors. A brilliant show.

February
The postcard and stamp budget was huge this month! We came to the end of delivering a month-long European Roadshow in February, which saw us visit:
Dublin, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Milan, Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt, Madrid, Lisbon, Oslo, Helsinki and Paris.

March
On International Women’s Day, we announced that Anna Green is our Managing Director.

April
We were awarded sole production supplier to the Saatchi Gallery whilst the Tutankhamun exhibition makes its final world tour to London. An exhibition not to miss!

May
At one of our favourite venues, Somerset House, we worked with Wines of Germany to deliver their trade and consumer tasting, The Big G

June
We branched out of London and opened our Manchester Office, in Federation House, a historic building full of digital businesses built on ethical values.

July
An annual event that takes over the Barbican, we were delighted to be a part of the largest professional fundraising event in Europe. The Institute of Fundraising's Annual Convention sees 2500 fundraisers get together to meet sector leaders whilst developing skills and knowledge.

August
We celebrated our 13th birthday which was lucky because the office was full of cake. If you want to read more about the history of Broadsword the luck continues because you can – it’s here!

September
We caught the running bug in September. A team of us ran 10k in Hyde Park for Mind. Everyone managed to complete it in under an hour and a half, a big achievement for us all.

October
Sooo, we just opened an office in Hong Kong. A big moment for the Broadsword history books. Goin’ global!

November
At the BFI Southbank, in front of a theatre full of people, we won silver at the EVCOM London Live Awards. There’s that word again.

December
It was our 10th year as production partner for the British Independent Film Awards at Old Billingsgate.

We're back and in full swing for a busy 2020 and are excited to see what this year brings us.

Happy New Year (and decade!). We look forward to catching up soon.

Or as Ferris Bueller would say: “Are you still here? It’s over. Go home”.
