Mr Green Speaks

Smaller than the Giant but taller than Jack. Love cafes. Love coffees. His thoughts are his own. Meet Commercial Director, Matt Green and his review of what has been a pretty marvellous year for Broadsword.

Q: If you had to describe your 2017 in 3 words, what would they be?
A: On a high!

Q: What achievements are you most proud of?
A: Where I do start? The development of many accounts, taking on a number of new exciting projects, the expansion of our offices into Central London, some really talented new team members joining us... it's a long list.

Q: What was the best news you received?
A: That never changes, every time someone says "we'd like to work with you," without fail, always gives me a buzz and makes me smile.

Q: What was your favourite compliment that you recieved this year?
A: Winning Production Company of the Year at The Event Awards,

Q:What little things did you most enjoy during your day-to-day working life?
A: Since August crossing Waterloo Bridge looking at our new office.

Q: What cool things did you create this year?
A: Depends on what you define as cool! A recent luxury themed event in Brussels looked stunning, I even heard a delegate say as much to a colleague. I wanted to go up to her and say, "can I quote you on that?"

Q: Was there anything you did for the very first time in your life this year?
A: Live streamed simultaneously across three continents for 24 hours with multiple other separate point to point video conferences. We held our breath on the few occasions (like going live on a VC from a village in Vietnam, or dialling into the President of Chile).

Q: What was the biggest problem you solved?
A: Logistics of people. Making sure the right team was on each job. It can be a difficult balancing act for a company the size of Broadsword, but we are fortunate to have a team where everyone is happy to 'muck in!'

Q: What was the funniest moment of your year, one that still makes it hard not to burst out laughing when you think about it?
A: Our Production Manager Simon being caught by the BBC live broadcast, on camera at the recent HMS Queen Elizabeth commissioning ceremony... he was filming the Red Arrows fly past on his phone!

Q: What advise would you give your early-2017 self if you could?
A: If the opportunity to sleep presents itself... take it!
