Somerset House: We have some big news to kick off the season - August was a monumental month in Broadsword’s history as the team moved into their new headquarters at Somerset House.
It is extraordinary to look out at Waterloo Bridge, the London Eye and Big Ben (even if it’s not chiming) every day. With Covent Garden around the corner, we are delighted to be right in the heart of the buzz and excitement of the West End.
This summer has seen quite a dramatic change of scenery for us, but naturally some things will stay the same - our established warehouse, workshop and technical base will remain in Sydenham, along with our website, emails, mobiles and landline number.
Of course, our Somerset House address is new:
Room T110, Third Floor, New Wing, Somerset House, Strand, London WC2R 1LA
Somerset House is a multi-purpose venue, with offices, cafes, event spaces, art galleries, a seasonal ice rink, outdoor cinema and a museum. It is home to a thriving community of creative businesses, artists and makers – of which we are now one.
We do hope you will come and visit us in our new abode – just let us know when you’re in the area!
Greenwich Park Picnic: Despite having the busiest August on record, team Broadsword still managed to squeeze in our annual summer picnic with an extremely competitive game of rounders. Jason, John and Stuart really got into the spirit of things with some epic strikes and slides, while Ben adopted a rather 1930s relaxed approach to the game - a Broadsword Joe DiMaggio!
Man vs Mountain: On the first weekend of September, Matt and Simon ran 22 miles over Snowdon! This legendary mountain adventure race started at sea level in the stunning Caernarfon Castle and wove its way to the summit of Snowdon and down the other side into Dinorwic Quarry and an array of punishing obstacles, including the infamous Vertical Kilometre, for them to tackle before they could cross the finishline.
Such an achievement and everyone at Broadsword is incredibly proud of them.
